US Trademark Design Search Code Manual |
The Design Search Code Manual consists of an Introduction, a Table of Categories, 15 General Guidelines, 29 Categories, and the Alphabetical Index. Keyword searching does not include text from the Introduction or Table of Categories in the search results. Any search results from the Alphabetical Index are listed first, follow by any search results from the 29 Categories, followed by any search results from 15 General Guidelines.
For search matches from the Alphabetical Index, only the matching terms are listed with the A-Z Alphabetical Index section heading. The A-Z Alphabetical Index section heading is linked to that Alphabetical Index section page, allowing the user to review the Alphabetical Index listing. Alternatively, clicking on the design codes or descriptions listed from the Alphabetical Index entries on the hit list will retrieve the 4-digit division entry for that hit with that design code positioned at the top of the view.
For search matches from any of the 29 Categories, the 4-digit divisions containing the relevant 6-digit design codes satisfying the search criteria are listed. If the Section Display setting All was selected for the search, all 6-digit design codes for the 4-digit division that satisfies the search criteria are listed. If the Section Display setting Matched was selected for the search, only those 6-digit design codes for the 4-digit division that satisfies the search criteria are listed. In either case, clicking on the 6-digit design code will display the full display page for that design code.
